St Mary’s has a lovely churchyard. Much of the maintenance is carried out voluntarily by members of the congregation and local community, but it is costly to maintain. Mowing takes two days to complete and is carried out under contract. There are other aspects of the site to maintain such as tree lopping and keeping weeds and brambles under control.
There is a separate fund for the churchyard, set up many years ago, but which is just about managing to maintain things as they are. It needs constant top ups.
