A Fête for All
Our annual church fête takes place every year on the first Saturday in September. It is a part of the church’s patronal celebrations, but is very much a community event with something for everyone.
There may be slight changes each year, but the essence of the Bitton Church Fête is that it is just the same as always: a great day out where you can meet friends, pick up bargain, try your luck on some games or enjoy some of the great food and drink on offer. There’s skittles, a coconut shie, cream teas, a barbeque and a bar. And don’t forget the famous Egg Throwing Competition without which the fête really cannot properly end.
This year we are pleased to welcome back the Bristol Morris who will be performing for us during the afternoon. We hope to have all the usual stalls and games as well as a great food selection on the field and in the church too where tea and cakes will be available. Not forgetting, of course, the really special cream tea available in the garden of Church Farm where you may be serenaded by the Jazzbeanz,
Following the invitation of the Bitton Dawn Chorus to “Come to the Fair”. The fête will be opened officially this year by our new vicar, Ness Brunner-Ellis The community choir will be singing again during the afternoon, with some specially selected pieces of music.
The winners of this year’s Photography Competition will also be announced and the winners presented with their prizes at the fête.
And, of course, there is also our Dog Show. this year run by local dog groomers – Kelsy’s Pad. Make sure you are there early to enter your dog for the show,
