Focal Point was established in 1978 as a joint effort between Bitton’s three places of Christian worship: St Mary’s Parish Church, The Methodist Chapel and the United Reformed chapel at Upton Cheyney. Sadly, the Methodist chapel closed early in this century, but the magazine seeks to serve both of the remaining congregations and to act as a community journal for Beach, Bitton, Swineford, Upton Cheyney and Willsbridge.
There is a large archive of magazines, although not every one has been kept and there are some quite large gaps just waiting to be filled by anyone who finds an old copy.
