We didn’t just get anyone to clean the walls of St Mary’s – we got someone who writes about it too.
The work to clean and undertake some conservation of the walls of St Mary’s is being carried out by Minerva Stone, a company with a portfolio of fine stonemasonry and restoration. One of its two directors, Andrew Ziminski is also a noted writer on the subject and his latest book, Churchgoing – A stonemason’s guide to churches in the British Isles has been well received and was even listed as one of the top art books of 2024 by The Times, no less.
